Before we can get going, tell me a little (or a lot!) about you and what you hope to do with your WordPress.com site. I’m going to already apologize for the length of this form, but hopefully in filling it out, it will help you focus on what it is you wish to achieve with your site.
If you expect to receive an answer, make sure you leave a real, working email address, preferably the one that you have or will associate with your WordPress.com site. All messages submitted here and in comment forms go through Akismet’s spam filters, so if you haven’t heard back from me within a week, please tweet me.
WordPress.com is a hosted blog service. You do not have to download software, pay for hosting or manage a web server. WordPress.com does not permit uploading themes or plugins. WordPress.org is free software. You can install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database.
Before you begin, please start by reading WordPress.com’s Terms of Service. Each user that signs up to use the WordPress.com site must agree to abide by these ToS, without exception.
Again, this site is focused on using WordPress.com, not the standalone program available at WordPress.org. If you are not sure about the differences between the two, this Support document will help clear up the confusion.
